BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (12/19/2014) Police are seeking tips from the public on a baseball bat used to kill a 43-year-old man last year.

The body of Wayne Cappelli, who lived in the Overlook Colony community in Claymont, was found on Feb. 18, 2013, in the 2100 block of Delaview Ave. in the Silvercroft neighborhood.

The New Castle County police cold case squad says Cappelli was last seen leaving the Super Fresh store in Branmar Plaza two days earlier shortly after 9 p.m.

Police say the bat used in the homicide may have been stolen from the owner without their knowledge, and the owner may live in the York or Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, areas.

Police released photos of a similar bat, describing it as  a white, aluminum Louisville Slugger TPS CVL softball bat.
