DELAWARE (12/11/2014) Light snow falling across Delaware this afternoon may bring some accumulation, the National Weather Service says. And the weather is delaying flights at Philadelphia International Airport.

Less than an inch is expected in New Castle and Kent counties, with little or no accumulation in Sussex.

The snow showers are expected to end by about 8 p.m.

As of 2:45 p.m., the weather service had a report from social media of 1.2 inches of snow in the Middletown area. At 5 p.m., the Delaware Environmental Observing System was reporting half an inch of snow at Blackbird and 0.4 inch at Port Penn.

Flights at Philadelphia are delayed an average of 1 hour and 23 minutes, according to the FlightAware website. Inbound flights are on hold at their origination until after 4:30 p.m. Departure delays are an average of 43 minutes.

Friday is predicted to be mostly cloudy with a high temperature in the low 40s. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs in the 40s.
