NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (7/13/2015) A motorcyclist died this afternoon after colliding with a car, New Castle County police said.

The accident happened about 3:25 p.m. on Moores Lane near New Castle.

Police said 42-year-old Herbert Williams III of New Castle was northbound at high speed on a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a 2010 Toyota Prius that was southbound and making a left turn into the Castle Hills community parkland.

Williams was ejected from the bike and the Prius was spun around and went off the road, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said.

Williams suffered multiple injuries and was treated by New Castle County paramedics, then taken by Good Will Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Prius, Sabrina Smallwood of New Castle, and a passenger were not injured, Jackson said.

He said police are still investigating and no charges have been filed.
