3rd pedestrian fatality in 2 days

STANTON, DELAWARE (12/11/2014) In the third pedestrian fatality in Delaware in the past two days, one man was killed this evening when he was struck by two cars on Kirkwood Highway.

The accident happened about 8:50 p.m. in the eastbound lanes in the 3700 block, near the Bull’s Eye tavern, state police said.

The victim was about 20 years old, said Cpl. Abigail Haas of New Castle County paramedics. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eastbound traffic was being detoured around the area as state police investigated. The eastbound lanes were closed between Farrand Drive and Duncan Road, state police said.

On Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was killed walking across Route 4 near the entrance to Delaware Park in Stanton, and early in the day a 25-year-old woman was killed while crossing Leipsic Road in Dover.
