DOVER, DELAWARE (12/10/2014) A 25-year-old woman was killed early today when she was struck by a car as she walked across Leipsic Road.
City police said the accident happened about 2:20 a.m. at Plaza Drive. She was struck by an eastbound 2012 Chrysler 200.
Police have not released the name of the victim pending notification of family. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, whose name was not released by police, was not injured. Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the driver was not charged.
Hoffman said the woman was wearing all black, was not wearing any reflective clothing and was not carrying a flashlight.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
