UPDATED STORY: Police identify 19-year-old man shot to death

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/5/2015) One of two people shot in an alleyway off the 200 block of N. Monroe St. on Saturday has died, city police said early today.

The gunfire rang out about 6:15 p.m., heard by officers on patrol nearby. The shooting scene was opposite the rear of the Adams Four shopping center.

The officers found a male victim lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. The officers provided first aid until New Castle County paramedics arrived.

He was treated by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital, where he later died.

A female victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the foot area, police said, and she was in stable condition at Christiana.

Police have not released the names of the victims.

Two male suspects were spotted fleeing the area in a vehicle at high speed and refused to stop for police. They were captured after a chase into Pennslvania.

Police credited residents with keeping a crowd away as officers performed first aid at the shooting scene.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Detective Fox at 302-576-3619.
