Wilmington police seek SUV after 35-year-old man stabbed to death

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (12/10/2016) City police are asking for the public’s help in finding an SUV seen near where a 35-year-old man was stabbed to death downtown on Wednesday night.

The homicide happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Market St.

The victim was identified as Melvin J. Smith of Wilmington.

Police said the SUV is a “possible vehicle of interest in the homicide investigation.”

It is believed to be a late model Ford Expedition, light in color, and may have Delaware registration. The SUV was last seen westbound on West Fourth Street from King Street, police said.
