2 assaulted, robbed by teens near Dover

DOVER, DELAWARE (1/11/2016) Several teenagers assaulted and robbed two people picking up trash in the Rodney Village neighborhood south of Dover, the Delaware State Police reported.

The incident happened about 12:35 p.m. Sunday in the first block of Samuel Paynter Drive.

A 31-year-old man was cleaning up trash on the streets for the property management with help from a 16-year-old boy who is his neighbor when they were confronted by the teens, who punched them several times, knocking them to the ground.

Police said the attackers took the man’s cellphone and then fled north toward the Alder Park Apartments.

Both victims had minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

The attackers were described as black and about 16-17 years old.
