DOVER, DELAWARE (9/18/2015) A Code Orange air quality alert has been issued today for Delaware.
Sunny skies, calm to very light winds and unseasonably warm weather will allow ozone to reach the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” level, state officials say, along the Interstate 95 corridor.
Young children, the elderly and those with heart or respiratory conditions should limit outdoor activities, especially any with a high level of exertion, officials say.
Particle concentrations will increase today into the moderate range.
Ozone levels are expected to drop into the moderate range on Saturday, and a cold front arriving Sunday morning will return air quality to the good range, according to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
