Man struck, killed in Gov. Printz Boulevard DUI crash is identified

CLAYMONT, Delaware (12/15/2018) A 38-year-old man who was struck and killed by a DUI driver on Gov. Printz Boulevard early Friday has been identified , Delaware State Police said.

Police said Nicholas Weaver was walking along the southbound side of Gov. Printz when he was struck by a southbound 2004 GMC Yukon SUV.

The pedestrian crash happened about 12:48 a.m. north of Hillside Road.

The driver, Bruce C. Bryan, 42, of Chester, Pennsylvania, stopped at the scene. Police charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was not injured.

Weaver was thrown into a grassy area by the collision. He was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, where he was pronounced dead.
