NEWARK, DELAWARE (12/5/2018) Newark police are asking motorists to avoid the area of South College Avenue (Route 896) and West Chestnut Hill Road (Route 4) following a crash this morning involving a DART bus and another vehicle.
Seven people were taken to area hospitals, with one of those in serious condition flown by helicopter. The crash was reported at 6:41 a.m.
Southbound South College Avenue is closed at Christina Parkway (Route 4). Northbound traffic is moving slowly, Newark police said.
The intersection is closed for east-west traffic on West Chestnut Hill Road.
The closures are expected to last an extended time as officers investigate the crash, police said.
