NEWPORT, DELAWARE (6/24/2018) A box truck crash closed southbound Route 141 near Newport this morning, according to reports from the scene.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. at Boxwood Road.
The Penske rental truck was carrying computer printers and overturned, spilling part of the load on the roadway.
Delaware State Police said state environmental crews were called in to deal with a ruptured fuel tank.
The driver, who spoke only Mandarin Chinese, translated to emergency medical technicians through a cellphone app that he was not injured.
Police said the southbound lanes of Route 141 will be closed an extended time as the wreckage is cleared.
Southbound traffic was being detoured off at Boxwood Road.
