ROCKLAND, DELAWARE (6/23/2018) A 20-year-old man was seriously injured this afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a truck on Route 141 (Powder Mill Road), authorities said. The truck driver also was injured.
The crash happened about 2:40 p.m. at the Alapocas Drive intersection.
Paramedic Senior Cpl. David J. McKinney Jr. said the motorcyclist was treated at the scene for leg and arm injuries as well as bodywide cuts and scrapes, then flown to Christiana Hospital in Stanton on a Delaware State Police helicopter.
The truck driver was taken by ambulance to the same hospital for evaluation of injuries not considered life-threatening, McKinney said.
Southbound Route 141 was closed as Delaware State Police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
