TALLEYVILLE, DELAWARE (6/15/2018) A Delaware State Police trooper and the driver of a car were injured when their vehicles collided on Thursday night, authorities said.

The crash happened about 7;30 p.m. on U.S. 202 (Concord Pike) at Prospect Avenue and the entrance to the Concord Gallery Shopping Center.

State police said the trooper was responding with lights and siren activated for an in-progress complaint at the shopping center.

The trooper was northbound on Concord Pike and was attempting a left turn into the shopping center when the SUV was struck on the passenger side by a southbound Toyota Corolla.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital and were in stable condition, police said.

Two lanes of southbound Concord Pike were closed for a time while police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
