Bank robber hits 2 branches in Wilmington

Wilmington police released surveillance image of robbery suspect after incidents at PNC Bank and Citizens Bank branches.

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/3/2016) A bank robber hit two branches in Wilmington on Monday but only escaped with cash from one of them, city police said.

The first incident was reported at 10:53 a.m. at the PNC Bank branch at 300 Delaware Ave.

Police said the teller refused to hand over cash and the robber fled on foot.

He was described as a black man in his mid-40s, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-9 and 150 to 180 pounds.

Four minutes later, police said, the same man robbed Citizens Bank at 919 N. Market St. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
