Man selling motor bike shot in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (9/27/2017) A 24-year-old man was shot Tuesday while trying to sell his motor bike, city police said.

The shooting was reported at 7:38 p.m. at 37th and North Monroe streets.

The victim had met two individuals to show the bike when one of them with a handgun demanded he turn it over to them, police said.

The victim refused and the gunman fired a single shot, striking the 24-year-old in his left upper thigh.

The gunman and his accomplice fled on foot. Police said they were black males in their late teens or early 20s.

The victim was treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics,  then taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital. Police said he was in stable condition.
