14-year-old girl survives shooting in Edgemoor

EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (6/30/2017) A 14-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting in Edgemoor, the New Castle County police said.

The girl was a passenger in a car along with several other youths when shots were fired at the vehicle early Thursday in the area of Rysing Drive and South Cannon Road.

She was being treated at an area hospital and police said her injuries were not life-threatening.

According to reports from the scene, the victim’s car was driven into Wilmington and she was dropped off in the area of Fifth and Pine streets. The car, with bullet holes visible on it, later collided with another vehicle in the 2700 block of Enterprise St.
