2 arrested on drug charges in Townsend

TOWNSEND, DELAWARE (2/15/2017) Two men were arrested after troopers witnessed a drug sale in Townsend, the Delaware State Police reported this morning.

The arrests happened about 2:10 p.m. Friday after police said they saw the transaction in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Main St.

Raymond Conaway, 19, of Middletown, was arrested after he drove off in a Chevrolet Malibu and was stopped by troopers. Police said they found three bags containing a total of 8.74 grams of marijuana and $549 cash inside the car.

He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, no proof of vehicle insurance and no driver’s license in possession. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

At the home, troopers arrested 18-year-old William Garber. Police said they found 128 grams of marijuana candy and a marijuana-laced brownie weighing 58 grams inside the house.

Garber was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, maintaining a drug property and second-degree conspiracy. He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
