NEWARK, DELAWARE (1/26/2017) A 23-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed as she walked on a sidewalk in Newark, city police said.
The robbery happened about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barksdale Road and Colonial Court.
The victim told police she had been waiting for friends in the area when a male walked past and lunged toward her, grabbing her cellphone as she was pushed to the ground. There may have been a second robber, possibly femaile, helping to pull her down.
The male was described as heavy set, unshaven and with baggy pants.
The robber fled and the victim was not injured.
Police said the victim is not affiliated with the University of Delaware.
