21-year-old man dies after Wilmington shooting

Shooting victim was found in the 1900 block of Elm St. in Wilmington. (Photo: Delaware Free News)WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/21/2017) A 21-year-old man shot in the head on Friday afternoon has died of his injuries, Wilmington police said this morning.

The shooting happened about 3:20 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Harrison St., and the victim was found in the 1200 block of Elm St.

He was treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics, then  taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, where he later died.

Police are withholding his name pending notification of next of kin.

A second man, 20 years old, was wounded in the torso. He was found at Second and North Jackson streets, police said. He was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington in stable condition.
