OGLETOWN, DELAWARE (1/14/2017) A fiery crash between a car and a tractor-trailer on southbound Interstate 95 sent a driver to a hospital early today, according to reports from the scene.
The crash happened about 3 a.m. near Route 273.
The driver of the car, a BMW, escaped just before it burst into flames after it struck the rear of the tractor-trailer.
The driver was taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company of Newark responded and Delaware State Police troopers are investigating the crash.
This wreck, along with another involving a tractor-trailer at Churchmans Road about the same time, kept all but one lane of southbound I-95 closed for several hours.
