HOCKESSIN, DELAWARE (10/17/2016) A 51-year-old woman was in critical condition after being struck by two vehicles on Lancaster Pike near the Pennsylvania state line on Sunday, the Delaware State Police said. One driver did not stop at the scene.

The pedestrian collision happened shortly before 7 p.m.

Police said Judith Powers, of Hockessin, was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a light-colored vehicle, possibly a Honda. The vehicle did not stop and continued west into Pennsylvania.

Powers fell to the ground and then was struck by another vehicle, a 2007 Honda Accord driven by Angel Escalera Cruz, 27, of New Castle.

Powers suffered multiple traumatic injuries, police said. She was treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

Police said they are collecting and analyzing evidence to determine the make and model of the vehicle that left the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. J. Jefferson at 302-660-3797 or Troop 6 at 302-633-5000.

Lancaster Pike was closed in the area about an hour as police investigated.
