DOVER, DELAWARE (8/25/2016) A 25-year-old woman was charged with first-degree assault after she struck her boyfriend with a vehicle following an argument, Dover police said today.

Jacqueline Kennedy, of Dover, also was charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury, driving while suspended and failure to report a collision involving injury.

The 31-year-old boyfriend was being treated at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for internal injuries and wounds, police said, and was in stable condition.

The incident happened about 4:05 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts at 470 S. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13).

Kennedy saw her boyfriend walking in the parking lot and pulled alongside of him, Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The two began to argue and the boyfriend told Kennedy to leave.

“Kennedy drove away, but turned around and drove toward the victim, striking him with the front driver side of the vehicle,” Hoffman said.

She was released on $22,500 unsecured bond.
