Woman trapped after car hits garage near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/4/2016) A woman was trapped inside her car early today after crashing into a garage west of New Castle, authorities said.

The incident happened about 2:40 a.m. in the first block of Dunning Court, in the Cambridge Gardens neighborhood.

According to reports from the scene, the car struck several vehicles in the neighborhood before hitting the garage.

Christiana firefighters freed the woman in her 40s after about 15 minutes, said Cpl. David J. McKinney Jr. of New Castle County paramedics.

She was evaluated at the scene and then taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition, McKinney said.

New Castle County police were investigating the crash.

Claymont Fire Company also responded.
