BEAR, DELAWARE (5/29/2016) A 59-year-old man was in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle early today on U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway) in Bear, authorities said.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. at Becks Woods Drive, said Sgt. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.
The man was walking down the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle, Haas said.
He was treated at the scene for upper extremity and head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
Delaware State Police are investigating.
