Woman seriously injured in crash with deer

GLASGOW, DELAWARE (5/17/2016) A 44-year-old woman was in serious condition after her vehicle struck a deer in Glasgow on Monday night, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 9:16 p.m. in the 3700 block of Summit Bridge Road (U.S. 301/Route 896), just north of Summit Bridge.

The driver was treated for a head injury and possible lower extremity injury, said Sgt. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics. She was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

The crash is under investigation by Delaware State Police.
