BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (3/20/2016) Fire heavily damaged 22 apartments in two buildings Saturday night and investigators are trying to determine how it started.
The blaze broke out about 6 p.m. in the 700 block of Appletree Court, in the Edge at Greentree Apartments.
Flames were shooting from the third floor when Claymont Fire Company arrived, said Michael G. Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.
Both damaged buildings were three stories, and damage was estimated at $800,000, he said.
No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was on the scene assisting displaced residents.
