Food market robbed on U.S. 40

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (3/11/2016) A convenience store on U.S. 40 west of New Castle was robbed at gunpoint, Delaware State Police reported Thursday.

The crime happened about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Express Food Market, 703 Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40).

The masked robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. The male clerk he confronted was not injured.

Police said the robber was a white male, 6-feet to 6-feet-2 and 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, white sneakers.
