Fire sweeps through home in New Castle

UPDATED STORY: New Castle fire ruled arson

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (3/2/2016) Fire swept through a vacant home in the Buttonwood neighborhood this afternoon, according to reports from the scene.

Winds gusting over 30 mph helped spread the flames throughout the house in the first block of Buttonwood Ave. near North Street.

No injuries were reported.

Multiple fire companies responded.

The Delaware state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
