DOVER, DELAWARE (1/14/2016) Three tickets will share the record $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot.
The winning tickets for Wednesday night’s drawing were sold in California, Florida and Tennessee.
Another five tickets, matching five numbers with the Power Play option, will each take $2 million prizes. These were sold in Arizona, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas.
And winners in 23 states, matching five numbers, will get $1 million prizes. These were in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia.

While the annuity value of Wednesday’s drawing was estimated at $1.5 billion, a cash payout would be worth about $930 million, lottery officials said.
The drawing was the 20th since the most recent grand prize Powerball winner, which occurred on Nov. 4. The highest Powerball jackpot awarded previously was $590.5 million, on May 18, 2013.
