HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (1/8/2016) A 24-year-old Lincoln man died Thursday night after a single-vehicle crash south of Harrington, the Delaware State Police reported this morning.

The accident happened aboutĀ 7 p.m. on Williamsville Road just east of Hogtown Road.

Eric J. Armstrong was driving a 1998 Pontiac Montana minivan eastbound on a moderate curve when he lost control for unknown reason and went off the south side of the road, police said.

The minivanĀ struck a ditch and overturned several times before coming to rest on the passenger side.

Armstrong, the only one in the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said it wasn’t known if he was wearing a seat belt. They are still investigating the crash but said alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Williamsville Road was closed about three hours between Hogtown and Hunting Quarter roads until the wreckage was cleared.
