Man shot in Brookside home invasion in critical condition

BROOKSIDE, DELAWARE (1/3/2016) A man shot this evening during a home invasion in the Brookside neighborhood is in critical condition, authorities said.

The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. in the first block of Mercer Drive.

The shooting victim, a man in his 20s, was shot in the lower torso, said Cpl. Tom Jackson of New Castle County police.

The man was treated at the scene by county paramedics  and taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton by Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company ambulance.

Police were on the scene investigating and using K-9s to search for the two masked males who entered the home.

Jackson asked anyone with information to call police at 302-573-2800.
