Police say family dog scares away intruders

MINQUADALE, DELAWARE (12/27/2015) Two men who broke into an occupied home in Minquadale were scared off when a resident released the family dog from its cage, New Castle County police said today.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Minquadale Blvd.

“The dog frightened away the intruders and they fled from her home into a light colored sedan with tinted windows.,” Sgt. Tracey Duffy said.

The 36-year-old resident let the dog out after the two men kicked in her front door, Duffy said.

Officers were unable to locate the two intruders.
