Teen charged in shooting of man in Wilmington

Wilmington police logoWILMINGTON, DELAWARE (12/22/2015) A 15-year-old boy was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting of a 21-year-old man the day before, Wilmington police said.

The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Locust St.

The victim suffered a graze wound to his back. He was treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in good condition, police said.

The 15-year-old Wilmington boy was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and by a person prohibited (juvenile).

He was being held at the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $40,000 cash bail.
