PIKE CREEK, DELAWARE (12/21/2015) A road rage incident in Pike Creek may have ended with shots being fired from one car into another, Delaware State Police said.

The incident began just after 7 p.m. Sunday as a 28-year-old Wilmington man was driving west on Stoney Batter Road.

Police said a white Toyota Scion with a Florida registration pulled out in front of the victim, forcing him to slam on the brakes.

The two vehicles then stopped side-by-side at the light at Limestone Road and both drivers engaged in an argument until both turned and went south on Limestone.

The victim was in the left lane and the Scion driver sped up, pulled in front and slammed on the brakes, police said.

As the victim passed on the right, the Scion driver tossed a beverage container at his car.

The victim then entered the right turn lane for Linden Hill Road, police said, and as the Scion passed he heard what sounded like four gunshots and his rear driver’s side window was shattered.

The Scion fled south on Limestone Road, and the victim turned right and pulled into a Wawa store to await police. He was not injured.

The Scion driver was described as a white man about 25 years old with thin build and brown hair. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

The white Scion had a blue tarp covering the front passenger window. A sticker with a black outline of Delaware was next to the Florida license plate. Police said he may have been armed with a handgun.
