LINCOLN, DELAWARE (12/12/2015) A store owner was assaulted by two robbers with a gun trying to get money from the business east of Lincoln, Delaware State Police said.

The incident happened about 6:05 p.m. Friday at Kings Market, 20639 Fleatown Road.

The 58-year-old store owner had walked outside to check the parking lot when two masked males approached and one of them struck the man in the head with a handgun, knocking him to the ground. He was struck a second time as the robbers demanded money from the store and began dragging him back into the business.

At that point, the owner’s son approached from inside the store and the pair fled empty-handed south on Cubbage Pond Road.

The store owner suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment, police said.

The two robbers were described as black and 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9.
