NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (11/24/2015) City police arrested a Washington Park woman on drug and vehicle theft charges, authorities reported Monday.
Andrea N. Brown, 23, of the 700 block of W. 11th St., was arrested Sunday hours after the Dodge minivan she was in had been reported stolen.
Senior Lt. Adam P. Brams said the owner had left the vehicle to deliver papers when the minivan was taken and driven toward Frenchtown Road.
Cpl. Keith Dempsey later saw the van on Frenchtown Road near Quigley Boulevard. He attempted to stop it but the woman driving, later identified as Brown, refused to pull over, Brams said.
She was arrested when she reached New Castle Airport and a truck was blocking the road.
Brown was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, disregarding a police officer’s signal and driving while suspended.
She was released on $1,500 unsecured bond pending a hearing.
