MILLSBORO, DELAWARE (11/14/2015) A 55-year-old man died this evening in a two-vehicle crash east of Millsboro, the Delaware State Police said.

The accident was reported at 5:23 p.m. on John J. Williams Highway (Route 24) near Bulls Eye Lane, east of William Street Road.

The man killed was identified as Robin M. Slacum of Millsboro.

Police said he was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla east on Route 24 when for unknown reason the car crossed the center line and struck the front of a westbound 2013 Nissan Quest minivan.

Slacum was extensively trapped in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Nissan, Melissa S. Enck, 34, of Georgetown, and a 9-year-old girl and 2-year-old girl riding in the minivan, were taken by ambulance to Beebe Healthcare’s hospital in Lewes, where they were treated and released. All were wearing seat belts.

Route 24 was closed about 2.5 hours as police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
