Woman dies after crash with deer on Route 9

DELAWARE CITY, DELAWARE (11/11/2015) The passenger in a car that collided with a deer Sunday on Route 9 near Delaware City has died of her injuries.

Jamie M. Episcopo, 48, of Delaware City, died Tuesday at Christiana Hospital in Stanton, Delaware State Police said.

She was riding in the front seat of a 1992 Toyota Corolla that collided with the antlered deer north of Route 72, near the Delaware City Refinery, about 8:45 p.m.

Her husband, Gary A. Episcopo, 53, was driving the car. He was not injured, police said.
