TALLEYVILLE, DELAWARE (11/3/2015) A 27-year-old man cut by a chain saw was in serious condition, authorities said.

The man walked into Talleyville Fire Company on Concord Pike just before 4 p.m. Monday with a cut in the bicep of his arm with severe, uncontrolled bleeding, said Sgt. Michael A. McColley of New Castle County paramedics.

Talleyville emergency medical technicians took the man by ambulance, and paramedics treated en route to Christiana Hospital.

The paramedics placed a tourniquet to control the bleeding and continued advanced care until arrival at the hospital, McColley said.

The man had been cutting a tree when the injury happened.
