2 flee after attempted robbery in Canterbury Crossing

WOODSIDE EAST, DELAWARE (10/30/2015) Two masked robbers fled empty-handed after fighting with the victim in the Canterbury Crossing development off U.S. 13, Delaware State Police said Thursday.

The incident happened about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the first block of Crestwood Drive.

A 28-year-old man went to his car in the driveway when the two robbers began assaulting him, displaying a handgun and demanding money.

The victim ran back into the home where fighting continued, police said. A 60-year-old man also intervened and one of the robbers dropped a weapon, later found to be a BB-gun.

The robbers then ran  off toward U.S. 13 (South DuPont Highway).

The 28-year-old victim suffered minor injuries but did not require treatment, police said. The 60-year-old was not hurt.

The robbers were described as black males about 5-feet-8 to 6-feet-1.
