One suspect in fatal Rodney Village home invasion surrenders

DOVER, DELAWARE (10/19/2015) One suspect in a home invasion south of Dover that left two people dead has surrendered to authorities in Pennsylvania, the Delaware State Police said today.

Matthew Harrington, 23, of Pennsylvania, turned himself in to Buckingham Township police on Sunday night.  He is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility while awaiting extradition to Delaware.

Harrington faces first-degree murder and related charges in the home invasion early Saturday in the 1400 block of John Clark Road in Rodney Village.

Clifton Leager, 52, was shot and killed during a struggle with the intruders, police said. His son was wounded, and a woman identified as Haley Henwood, 18, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, also was shot to death. Police still have not released details on her involvement in the incident.

Saleem Shabazz, 21, of Philadelphia, is still wanted by police. He is described as black and about 6 feet tall, 150-160 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing dark clothing and armed with an unknown type of handgun, police said. He is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted robbery, assault, six counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, two counts of burglary and conspiracy.

Police said he may be using a four-door dark SUV.

Police have not indicated any motive for the home invasion, but they said it did not appear to be a random act.
