Fire hits 3 mobile homes in Stanton, ruled arson

STANTON, DELAWARE (10/18/2015) Fire ripped through three trailers at the Park Place mobile home park early today, displacing 12 residents. All three fires were ruled arson.

The fire was reported just after 2 a.m. in the first block of Indiana Road, off Limestone Road (Route 7).

Mill Creek firefighters responded as well as numerous other fire companies.

Deputy fire marshals responded to the scene and determined that all three fires were separate and distinct. The fires were deemed arson.

One trailer, occupied by nine people, was destroyed by a fire, said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal. Two other trailers sustained moderate fire damage, he said.

No injuries were reported.

Chionchio said daamage was estimated at $40,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

It took about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

The Delaware state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze.
