Fire marshal: $100,000 damage to home near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (10/10/2015) A fire that destroyed a single-family home in the Revis subdivision near New Castle on Friday night caused an estimated $100,000 damage, the Delaware state Fire Marshal’s Office said this morning.

The fire in the first block of Revis Ave., off Route 9, broke out about 7 p.m., said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.

He said the home was engulfed in flames when Holloway Terrace firefighters arrived.

Deputy fire marshals are at the scene trying to determine how the fire started.

No injures were reported. One person was displaced by the fire, Chionchio said.
