Drugs, guns seized at home on U.S. 13; man arrested

FELTON, DELAWARE (10/16/2015) A 29-year-old man was arrested after drugs and guns were seized from a home south of Felton, the Delaware State Police said.

Michael P. Garcia was taken into custody about 8:55 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 13000 block of S. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13).

Police said they searched the property and house, finding 13,381 grams of marijuana being grown outside and dried in a barn.

A Ruger .22 caliber handgun, a Sig Sauer .223 caliber rifle and a Remington .308 caliber rifle were foundĀ inside the home, police said.

Garcia was charged with possession of a controlled substance in Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, four counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released after posting $24,000 secured bond.
