Man treated at hospital after Bear shooting

BEAR, DELAWARE (10/3/2015) A wounded man was treated at a Pennsylvania hospital following a shooting Friday in the Oakwood neighborhood in Bear, according to New Castle County police.

The shooting happened about 5:45 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of W. Moyer Drive.

Officers investigating found damage to a garage door and multiple shell casings, Cpl. Tracey Duffy said.

About four hours later, county police were notified by authorities in Pennsylvania that a 19-year-old man was admitted to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with a gunshot wound to a lower extremity. Duffy said the man lives in the 500 block of MacDade Blvd. in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, but she provided no other details on the shooting or his connection to it.
