STANTON, DELAWARE (10/2/2015) A Wilmington man was charged with a seventh DUI after striking a parked school bus in Stanton, Delaware State Police said.

The incident happened about 10:10 a.m. Thursday at the First Student Transportation bus yard, 750 Stanton-Christiana Road.

John R. Owens, 57, was passed out behind the wheel of a Dodge Caliber when troopers arrived, police said.

The car had entered the bus yard and struck the rear of a parked bus, then returned to the road, re-entered the bus lot and struck a chain-link fence before passing out, police said.

Owens was not injured, police said, but was taken to Christiana Hospital for evaluation.

In addition to the seventh driving under the influence count, Owens was charged with driving while suspended and no valid proof of insurance.
