WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (9/24/2015) A 22-year-old man was shot in Wilmington but fled in a vehicle that was involved in an accident in Riverside, then went to the Knights Inn motel on Route 9 near New Castle, police said.
Wilmington police said the shooting happened about 11 a.m. in the first block of Jensen Drive, but the victim was gone by the time officers arrived.
About 11:30 a.m., the victim was found at the motel with a gunshot wound to his upper torso and jaw areas.
He was treated there by New Castle County paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition, police said.
