NEWPORT, DELAWARE (9/23/2015) A man struck and killed by an Amtrak train near Newport on Sunday has been identified by Delaware State Police.
Onofre Lopez, 25, of New Castle, was killed about 1 a.m. on the tracks between Water and East Ayre streets about .4 mile east of Route 141.
The train, estimated to have been traveling 90-100 mph, stopped south of the scene.
Police said they are still investigating the incident.
