GLASGOW, DELAWARE (9/23/2015) Gunshots were reported fired this afternoon in the Fox Run community near U.S. 40 and Route 72, New Castle County police said.
Several callers to 911 about 12:28 p.m. reported hearing the shots and seeing multiple people flee the area of the 200 block of Wood Chuck Place, Officer First Class Tom Jackson said.
County police officers and Delaware State Police troopers searched the area and initially found no victims nor evidence of a shooting. Jackson said an extensive search was continuing.
“An assisting Delaware State Police unit located a suspicious vehicle in the area and attempted to stop same,” Jackson said. “That vehicle fled from the trooper but eventually stopped in the community of Pine Woods where several subjects bailed from the vehicle on foot. Two of the subjects were eventually captured after a search of the area by multiple assisting units from both agencies and a K-9.”
County police officers are interviewing the pair to determine if they were involved in the shooting. State police will be charging the driver with violations related to the pursuit, Jackson said.
